Группа была создана по инициативе Джеффа Линна (Jeffrey "Jeff" Lynne) и Роя Вуда (Roy Adrian Wood) в 1970 году. Electric Light Orchestra(ELO) была на пике популярности с 1971 по 1986 год, выпустив 11 студийных альбомов.
